You are a vital member of our emergency response team
For people to properly recover after a disaster, it requires that we provide support before, during and after the disaster. We work to provide immediate needs such as food and shelter when a disaster strikes. We also provide information and training to rebuild livelihoods

An elderly man with a disability challenge accompanied by his son express heartfelt gratitude after receiving food packs from ADRA under the NANSEN Food Security Project supported by the Norwegian Church Aid. The assistance was part of ADRA’s ongoing effort to support vulnerable families, ensuring they have access to essential nutrition and resources to improve their food security. This initiative was impactful for households struggling with economic challenges during the 2023-2024 drought season. The NANSEN Food Security Project is committed to strengthening resilience and providing sustainable solutions to ensure no family goes hungry.

ADRA Africa, ADRA International, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and ADRA Zambia’s supporting partners made a profound impact through a cholera response project that reached 2,000 households, including 300 persons with disabilities. The project provided essential resources, including hygiene kits, cash transfers, chlorine, oral rehydration salts (ORS), and water storage buckets, totaling over K474,000 in value. In partnership with the Ministry of Health and local communities, these materials were distributed at Oral Rehydration Points in high-risk areas to help curb the spread of the cholera outbreak. ADRA also led cholera prevention awareness campaigns and street-cleaning initiatives to improve sanitation. This comprehensive response not only saved lives but also instilled hope and resilience in vulnerable communities, enabling them to better withstand future health challenges.
