Child Alive Camp, Learning, Teamwork and Fun Kamanga and M’tendere Children and Youth

Last Thursday, 7th May, over 100 children aged between 6 and 14 years from Kamanga and M’tendere gathered at Twalumba Resort for a vibrant and engaging Child Alive activity accompanied by their mentors. The event brought together children from different backgrounds in a safe and welcoming environment designed to encourage learning, interaction, and personal growth through fun and meaningful activities.

The Child Alive activity focused on promoting unity, teamwork, and the development of essential life skills among the children. Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of interactive games, group exercises, and team-building activities that encouraged cooperation, communication, and mutual respect. The sessions created opportunities for children to connect with one another, build friendships, and learn the value of working together toward common goals.

Mentors played an important role during the activity by guiding discussions, supporting the children, and creating an atmosphere where every child felt included and valued. Through encouragement and positive engagement, the mentors helped the children gain confidence, improve their social skills, and express themselves freely in a supportive setting.

Beyond the fun and recreation, the event also served as a platform for nurturing positive character development and emotional well-being. The children were encouraged to practice kindness, leadership, discipline, and teamwork while participating in activities that strengthened their sense of belonging and community.

The activity was conducted under The Young and Empowered Program implemented by ADRA Zambia with support from ADRA Sweden and the Swedish Mission Council. Through such initiatives, the program continues to create safe spaces where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and mentally while equipping them with values and life skills that contribute to a brighter future.
