🌍 ADRA Zambia’s Impact in the Health Sector – Commemorating World Health Day

In celebration of World Health Day, ADRA Zambia continues to make impactful contributions to public health across the country, with a strong focus on vulnerable communities. Here’s a look at some of the key initiatives that are transforming lives:

💠 Menstrual Hygiene Management for more than 20,000 Girls in urban townships. 🎒 Many girls were missing school due to lack of access to menstrual hygiene products and clean facilities.

ADRA has empowered community-based organizations with tailoring skills and provided reusable pad-making startup kits, creating sustainable solutions for menstrual health.

📌 “Menstrual health is not a luxury — it’s a right.”

🚰 Cholera Response: Saving Lives with Hygiene Support

When cholera struck, ADRA Zambia acted swiftly in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and community leaders.

🧼 Over 2,000 households, including 300 persons with disabilities, received:

Hygiene kits 🧴

Cash transfers 💸

Chlorine and ORS 💧

Water storage buckets 🪣

📢 ADRA also led cholera prevention awareness campaigns and organized street-cleaning initiatives in high-risk areas to prevent further outbreaks.

💪 This initiative restored health, dignity, and hope to communities facing serious health threats.

🌞 Looking Ahead⚡ ADRA is also helped hospitals like Mwami and Yuka Mission Hospital get reliable solar power, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for rural communities.

From improving maternal health to fighting infectious diseases, ADRA Zambia’s work embodies the World Health Day theme:

“Health for All” 💙

Together, we’re building healthier communities — one life at a time. ✨
